COVINGTON — Ella L. Hicks, 74, Covington, died at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday in Covington Manor Nursing Home where she had been a patient for three years. Mrs. Hicks was a member of Cates United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women's Club. She also belonged to the J.W.G. birthday club of Veedersburg. Born Nov. 2, 1893, near Pine Village, she was a daughter of William Isaac and Louisa Coatney Banister. She attended Kingman and Cates schools. She was married Dec. 25, 1910, to Clarence Kinneer. He died Oct. 16, 1953. She married Harry Hicks Nov. 7, 1962. He died March 10, 1972. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. J. Bryant (Velma) Starkey of Rt. 1, Covington; two grandchildren, Mrs. Carol Kochell of Janesville, Wis., and Ted Silvey of Danville, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Wreatha) Furr of Hillsboro and Mrs. Katheryn Rollings of Indianapolis; four great-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, a sister and a brother. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Stapp officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday.  --typed by Walt W
